Minsk regional customs for 9 months of 2019 prevented the import of more than 5.3 kg of prohibited substances into the country

For 9 months of 2019, the Minsk regional customs stopped the import of more than 5.3 kg of prohibited substances into the country. This figure is 7 times higher than the same period last year. Over the past period, customs officers revealed 48 facts of illegal movement across the border of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and pharmaceutical preparations containing narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. More than 3 kg of poppy straw, 500 g of ephedra grass, 60 g of codeine, 32 g of marijuana, 10 g of heroin, 0.5 g of cocaine and other prohibited substances were seized from illegal trafficking.

In January - September of the current year, customs opened 40 criminal cases, which is 50% more than for the same period in 2018.

In addition, customs officers revealed more than 7.5 thousand administrative offenses.

Modern infrastructure, technical means of customs control, which were modernized and improved in anticipation of the II-nd European Games, the use of specially trained service dogs help identify and prevent violations of customs legislation.

In the reporting period, customs officials prevented the illegal export of 6 kg of unprocessed amber from the customs territory of the EAEU, prevented 3 attempts to illegally import marijuana by IPI and cocaine in a hair clipper, seven facts of importing a large batch of motor oils without permission from the copyright holder and more 14 kg non-smoking tobacco nasvay.
