Import of used goods for personal use, necessary on the way and destination of an individual crossing the customs border of the EAEU
The importation of used goods for personal use, which are necessary on the route and destination of an individual traveling through the customs border of the EAEU, is carried out without paying customs duties and taxes. The list of such goods is defined in Annex 2 to Decree No. 360 “About the movement of goods for personal use”. The camera, laptop, is included in this list, and, therefore, the duty-free rate is 500 euros and 25 kg, or 300 euros and 20 kg when crossing the border more than once every 3 calendar months, when importing a camera / laptop does not apply.
The following criteria are taken into account for classifying goods as used and necessary on the route and destination by a customs officer:
the generally accepted (traditional) practice of using the route and (or) destination, including seasonality, the purpose of the trip, the mode of transport, the frequency of crossing the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union;
presence of signs of wear (including scratches, dents, other mechanical damage), washing, other uses;
the absence of tags, labels, primary packaging, including those transported separately, with the exception of packaging damaged in a manner precluding the restoration of its original condition in an economically advantageous way;
the importation in a single or other quantity necessary for the generally accepted (traditional) practice of using such a product, including seasonality, purpose of the trip, mode of transport, objective necessity along the way and (or) destination.
However, if you are taking an expensive item abroad that looks like a new one, for example a camera, take the documents (registration certificate, warranty card, etc.) that confirm the purchase of goods in Belarus. If not, we recommend to file passenger customs declaration (in duplicate), which, when you returning home, will indicate that such goods were previously exported from Belarus, and were not purchased in another state.
